Additionally, the detectives were seen surveying the ground floor of the apartment from which the deceased allegedly jumped from the 12th floor of the apartment.

On his part, Kindiki noted that the homicide team from the DCI headquarters was dispassionate and will help resolve the claims of collusion at Kasarani Police Station where the matter was reported.

The CS further directed that after the investigations, the necessary action to be taken against those found culpable.

Meanwhile, DCI Amin urged members of the public to provide any information on the matter to the head of the homicide department.

"The public is assured that no stone shall be left unturned in the investigation of this case and any person found to have been involved in the death shall face the full force of the law," Amin affirmed,

On February 22, Mwathi reportedly died by suicide after jumping through the window of the apartment at around 5.47 am. His body was transferred to the morgue before he was buried at his rural home on March 3, 2023.

According to reports, the man was in the company of the DJ and other friends who went to four nightclubs after finalising a business deal on decorating a shop for the artist.

When they went back to the apartment, the artist is said to have left the room. Mwathi was left in the company of his cousin and others.

Before meeting the entertainer, Mwathi was in constant communication with his mother who works in Qatar. From the WhatsApp audio messages, the young man was excited to work with DJ Fatxo on the job.

Through his lawyer Charles Mugane, DJ Fatxo pledged to help the police in the investigation of the case that stirred debate online.
